Why Jana Kramer says she was “embarrassed” about the painful return to the podcast 2 weeks after Mike Caussin’s divorce
She went on by providing an insight into the range of responses she had received from those close to her. “I had friends who basically told me they would lose their respect for me,” Jana said of the reaction to her transition from marriage. “And those were the friends who always said, ‘We would love you and support you no matter what.'”
Jana stated that “a few days before things came to light,” she felt that the relationship was still strong.
“I’m the weakest I’ve ever been,” she shared. “I went to my therapist a few weeks ago and said, ‘Well, I’ll live this life. I don’t want to separate my family.’ My whole thing is, I didn’t mean it for the kids. I stayed for my kids even when other things happened. “
Jana described a warm conversation between the former couple that took place “a few weeks before” the separation. “He swore on his sobriety that there was nothing,” she said. “Most of my sadness comes from my kids because they didn’t deserve it, they didn’t ask for it. And also the dream of what I thought it would be and who I thought I would work with.”
The star closed the episode with the appreciation of the fans who walked that path with her. “I promise you there won’t be a sob show every week,” she said. “We’ll find out together. We’re on this journey together.”
