The Blitz says goodbye to two original actors
This is not super news for this superhero show.
On Tuesday May 4th, it was announced that Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes leave The Flash after the seventh season. According to Deadline who broke the news, Carlos will end his run as Cisco Ramon on The CW with an appearance in the current season’s finals.
As for Tom, who played Eobard Thawne / Reverse-Flash and Harrison Wells, his regular series run actually ended in episode three. In reality, Tom’s position as a regular series on The Flash was supposed to end in season six, but the coronavirus pandemic stopped production. So many storylines have moved into the seventh season. He is expected to appear in more episodes later this season.
Although the actors are leaving the series, a statement from the executive producer and showrunner Eric Wallace made it clear that Tom and Carlos would be welcomed back in guest roles. “Tom and Carlos have been an integral part of our show for seven seasons and are very much missed,” he told Deadline. “Both are incredible talents who created beloved characters that fans and audiences around the world have come to love. That’s why we like to keep the door open for recurring appearances.”
