Like Michael Jordan before him, NBA Champion LeBron James travels to Toontown.

In the first trailer released on Saturday for Space Jam: A New Legacy (which hits theaters on HBO Max next to theaters on July 16), James encounters some of the most classic cartoon characters from the Warner Bros. archives.

While James tries to convince his son Dom (newcomer Cedric Joe) to follow in his basketball footsteps, he gets into an epic adventure when he finds himself in “The Serververse,” a strange digital space he still does has never seen before. There he meets the villain of the film, Al-G Rhythm (Don Cheadle from Black Monday), an evil computer algorithm that kidnaps his son.

“The only way you can get your son back is if you and I play some basketball,” threatens Al.

To save his son, James must assemble an elite team of the best cartoon ballers, including Bugs Bunny and other Looney Tunes favorites like Sylvester, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, and others. But these aren’t the only classic WB characters featured in the trailer. The Iron Giant, The Flintstones, King Kong and Yogi Bear also made an appearance as James struggled to get his team in tip-top shape to take on Al’s nefarious Goon Squad.
