No jumps on San Holo’s second album, “bb u ok?”

It was three years ago San Holos Debut album album1, and the Dutch artist has managed not only to refine his core sound, but to expand it exponentially. And while I understand that these actions are inherently related, imagine that you are enlarging the spectrum of light and seeing all the other myriad colors that are in an enlarged part of the spectrum. (Yes, I use a “light” metaphor.)

His second album, bb are you alright?, is officially out today and features 20 tracks including collaborations with Bipolar Sunshine, The Nicholas, American Football, Weezer, Chet Porter and the graduation with Mija & Mr. Carmack.

Before it was released, we had already received six large singles that might appear a lot on a typical album release. But with 20 songs it was hardly more than a quarter of the full listening experience and there is so much more to experience and discover in the folds of the emotional and creative work.

The combination of San’s bloody guitar chords, processed vocals and delicate synthesizers runs through the entire album, more pronounced, more nuanced, more meaningful than ever before.

Listen to the new album below, in the morning, in the evening when you are happy, when you are sad, when you have to get over an ex, when you have found someone new, when you need to feel your feelings or escape them.
