Nightwing movie isn’t lost yet, director thinks the door is still open

There are many announced DC Comics films that have been in the works in recent years. A large number of them are not clear as to whether or not they will be released. There was speculation for Night wing, one of the most anticipated films. The project was first announced in 2017. A lot of hype came with the news of a movie based on one of the comic company’s most popular characters. Several plants, including Nightwing, suffered setbacks. Fortunately, the film’s director Chris McKay has finally revealed an update.

Chris McKay spoke recently in an interview with CinemaBlend’s ReelBlend podcast. In the interview he said that the film was not canceled. He still wants to bring the film closer to the audience. Considering that other DC films like Ava Duvernay’s New Gods and James Wan’s-produced The Trench have been preserved, this is good news for fans of the universe.

“I hope it’s still a reality. I hope we can still do this film. It’s not lost to me. It’s obviously something that … they had different priorities, they had different challenges. You had things they had to do and I think they found their way, I think their recent achievements and the things they are planning now open the door for us to still be able to make a Nightwing movie too do.” “Whether you call it ‘in an alternate universe’ or, in its multiverse version, choose which universe it belongs to, there are different ways into it. But Nightwing is a big, action-packed, emotional film. similar to The Tomorrow War. But from the standpoint of scope and scale, in terms of the type of action and the type of heart, it will be everything at Nightwing. ”

For those who don’t know much about the comics, animation projects, or the live-action series Titans, Nightwing is one of the most popular DC characters. In the comics, Batman lets a lot of people take on the robin cloak. Those people include the antihero Jason Todd, the other great detective Tim Drake, daughter of a supervillain and Tim’s friend Stephanie Brown, and the runaway teen from The Dark Knight Returns classic Carrie Kelly. However, Dick Grayson was the first, and arguably the best, to inherit the title.

He made his debut a year after the Caped Crusader in 1940. His parents, who worked as circus acrobats, were murdered while performing one of their stunts in front of a crowd. Batman, in his secret Bruce Wayne identity, was in the audience at the time. He took it upon himself to raise the then child Grayson and teach him crime-fighting methods. He served as Robin for several years. Eventually, growing up, Dick had an argument with his mentor. He became his own hero when he adopted the Nightwing personality. He now fights crime alone, with occasional team-ups with Batman and his allies.

In previous discussions about the film, McKay disclosed different information. In an interview with Collider he said: “It’s going to be a hell of a tough action film with a lot of heart and emotion. It’s going to be a crazy, fun ride. Whoever is cast as Nightwing, and one of the others? Actors nearby are going to have a bloody boot camp experience because it’s going to be a lot. “While no actor has been cast as a hero, viewers have found that the action sequences are impressive.

Some moviegoers don’t like to rely overly on computer generated imagery. What is positive for them is that McKay will not take this route. In the aforementioned Collider interview, he stated, “I’m not going to do a lot of CG. It all turns out to be real shit. It’s going to be real stunt work and you have to do all that stuff in front of the camera and make it believable. It will be a visceral experience for the cast and crew, and for the audience. It’s not going to be like a lot of those movies that have a lot of CG and flying and the like. Everything he does has to be real. “

Nightwing has no superhuman abilities. However, this does not detract from his abilities as a fighter. Chris McKay seems to understand that fact when he talked about it, “His superpowers are really damn good as a person, at fighting and gymnastics and all, so you’ll see that on the screen. It’ll be fun!” Hopefully the project won’t be abandoned in the future. Lots of people would love to see one of the best characters from the comics brought to the big screen.
