In her statement, which Omid Scobie posted on Twitter, Markle confessed that she was “sad” to hear the allegations and claimed she was working on “building compassion.”

‘The Duchess is saddened by the recent attack on her character, especially as someone who has been the target of self-bullying and who is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced such pain and trauma. She is determined to continue her work of building compassion around the world and will continue to strive to set an example of what is right and what is good. ‘

Regarding the allegations, a former palace employee described the situation they found themselves in as “more like emotional cruelty and manipulation, which I could also call bullying”.

Someone else told the point of sale that they were “humiliated” by Meghan and others confessed that they trembled when they expected a confrontation with Meghan.

This all comes after Meghan and Harry’s former communications assistant Jason Knauf complained to HR in 2018: “I’m very concerned that the Duchess was able to harass two PAs from the household last year. The treatment of X was totally unacceptable. The Duchess seems to be careful to always have someone in her sights. She bullies Y and tries to undermine all of her trust. We have received report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behavior towards Y. I am still concerned that nothing will be done. ‘

Other unnamed insiders told news outlets at the time that the palace was much more concerned with eliminating any backlash than improving the situation.
