Welcome to Darkseid.

In the latest trailer for the four-hour (!) Zack Snyder's Justice League (a.k.a. the Snyder Cut), a new villain rises to take the limelight. Bruce Wayne (Argos Ben Affleck), which will be released on HBO Max on Thursday March 18, teams up with Diana Prince (Wonder Woman 1984 Gal Gadot) to create a team of meta-people ready to protect the world from a deadly threat.

In the clip released on Sunday (embedded below), we see the Justice League bravely advance before a fleet of alien spaceships land on Metropolis. "I had a dream, almost a premonition, that an attack was imminent," says Affleck's Batman ominously in the trailer. “I need warriors. I am building an alliance to defend us. "And that's exactly what the world will need for what the villain Steppenwolf" 4. World War "calls.

We also get an expanded look at Darkseid (a.k.a., the Lord of Apokolipsa), the villain Snyder who originally intended to become the ultimate Big Bad of the DCEU (similar to Marvel's Thanos). Plus there are tons of fresh scenes and eye candy that showcase the powers and superhuman strengths of Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman (Jason Momoa from Game of Thrones), Cyborg (Ray Fisher from True Detective) and The Flash (The Stand & # 39; s ) show Ezra Miller). Check out the full trailer below:

The task of assembling a team of heroes will be easier said than done, however, as "each of the recruits must face the demons of their own past to overcome what held them back," according to the official description.

Despite being the Justice League's original director, Snyder was forced to retire from the project during post-production due to a family tragedy. Joss Whedon stepped in to complete the film and threw fans questions about what Snyder's version would have been like.

Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter, "It's going to be a whole new thing, and especially speaking to those who saw the released film, a new experience aside from this film."
