Into the Woods: Tingly Secrets and techniques of the Friday the 13th Franchise
Amy Steel& # 39; s Ginny is the "last girl" in Part II in which, tormented by the nerves of frenzied shooting, she accidentally slapped a machete on the finger of stuntman Steve Daskewisz. "And I was so horrified," recalled Steel from The Line Up. "We went to the emergency room and he's dressed up as Jason and I was ashamed. And he just said, 'Are you kidding, this is great! Another scar!'"
Like King, she had to film her climate scene in which Jason grabs Ginny and she crashes through a window several times. "I thought this was the worst moment of my life and they had to do a lot of repositioning because they had to reassemble the window," said Steel. "So it would be an hour and a half between takes. I think we did it at least three times. When the director came back a week later and told me we had to do it again, I was so upset."
She passed Part III on, both because she was exhausted and wanted to be taken seriously as an actress – and so far there has only been one Jamie Lee Curtis. But Steel called it "one of my biggest regrets" for not being there.
Steel continued to play but gave up in the early 2000s and became a family therapist. When asked to share the appeal of horror movies from a psychologist's point of view, she said, "I think fear takes you out of your own life, your own problems. It's an escape. When you watch a horror movie, get it She moves on to the person next to you. I think she brings people together. "
