CNCO announces that Joel Pimentel is leaving the band to pursue “new opportunities”
Earlier this year, CNCO released their third studio album, Déjà Vu, and reported in an interview with E! News in February.
“The inspiration for this project came during the pandemic,” Joel told E! News at the time. “We had so much free time that I think almost everyone started listening to the classic old songs – at least we did – and we just had the crazy idea of bringing those songs back and giving them a new life.”
Richard added, “We are happy that you see the classics of our culture. They are re-introducing classics from the 80s and 90s, things that were very important to the music in our culture. We are making them new and bringing them back into our river and hope you like it. “
In April, the boy band spoke to Teen Vogue about their rise to fame and what it was like to grow up in the spotlight.
“We didn’t have a normal teenage life,” Joel told the publication. “We grew up traveling to different countries. Our voices have also changed in public. I think it’s particularly that our fans have been part of our growth.”
