Dwayne Johnson has been committed to portraying Black Adam for quite some time, long before the ongoing DC movie universe was ever conceived, and so it must be very exciting for the actor (and fans) to know that his commitment to the role is finally going to be to be rewarded.

Black Adam will join the pantheon of DC movie heroes and villains and remains one of the most popular characters from DC lore. Its powerhouse is similar to that of Superman, which should deliver some action-packed imagery, but its origin is with Shazam! Connected. Much like Billy Batson, Black Adam gains his powers thanks to the wizard Shazam, who begins his overpowering career as a super villain and eventually becomes the archenemy of Batson and his superhero family. However, in recent years, Black Adam has become an antihero and is now in search of redemption.

With Johnson’s involvement, the Black Adam story will likely fall somewhere in the middle. The actor says in 2019: “Black Adam, like he starts, he starts out as a villain. Then he becomes an antihero. And then he.” might become a hero or he might not. “

Black Adam is set to be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who previously directed The Shallows, Non-Stop and the upcoming Jungle Cruise with Johnson. In addition to the A-Lister as the title character, the Black Adam film also features a few other familiar faces from the world of DC, including the Justice Society of America or JSA, a legendary superhero team that no doubt comes into conflict with Johnson’s superpower champion becomes .

The Justice Society of America consists of Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Doctor Fate, recently announced and played by Pierce Brosnan. Aladdin and Marwan Kenzari, the star of the Old Guard, recently joined the project in an as-yet-unknown role.

Black Adam has been pushed and pulled so many times that it’s still hard to believe it’s finally going to happen. The project has been in production for years and was originally scheduled to be released in late 2020 before being postponed and slated for December 2021. Black Adam was then indefinitely delayed due to the ongoing global situation. With the film expected to start production, the DC Outing is likely to be released sometime in 2022.
