Beatport offers the world’s first web-based DJ mixing application
Beatport, The leading online music store for DJs and producers reduces the time and financial barriers to DJing.
The most recent launch of Beatport DJ aims to incorporate music discovery, playlist curation, and mixing. The web app gives users access to mixing tools from their computer and positions the application as “the world’s first web-based DJ application designed for music recognition and playlist management”.
The application has everything you can find on a starter controller – two channels, waveform views, pitch slides, loop controls, EQ controls, hot cues, cross fade, sync controls and 10 sound effects. Beatport DJ even improves the functionality of starter controllers so that users can skip a track currently playing without disturbing the song coming through the speakers.
But where users really get their money’s worth is the easily accessible Beatport catalog. Playlists curated by Beatport that allow users to access the hottest songs. Beatport DJ can be used with the Pioneer DDJ-200 controller and MIDI controllers. Beatport can synchronize LINK information with controllers that have the LINK function, e.g. B. Selected Denon controllers.
Jonas Tempel, Beatport Founder and Chief Revenue Officer, says of the application:
We developed the software to solve the cumbersome workflow challenges of music recognition and the creation of LINK playlists. Additionally, we know that our customers need to audition the tracks to make sure the song fits into their sets. Our solution combines a variety of advanced web-based technologies to give users a truly effortless experience that you would expect from dedicated desktop software.
All of these tools can be yours with a subscription to Beatport LINK, which starts at $ 14.99 / month after a 30-day free trial. Check out Beatport DJ here.
